I graduated in 2011 with a degree in Fine Art Painting & Drawing. My interest is nature, flowers and plants forming the basis of my work. I take the original photos myself manipulating them to give me interesting shapes, pattens and colours. These are painted mainly in oils, I also use acrylic, watercolour, pencils and inks, mixing the media to give me the effects I need.
I want to draw the viewer in to see something that is not the expected representation but the abstraction of shapes taken from a bouquet of flowers that is painted in a hype realistic way creating a new reality.
In January 2012 I joined The Eagle Gallery in Bedford. This is a unique artist led gallery run by a co-operative of 45 Bedfordshire artists exhibiting a wide range of work. For me this means I have my work on show most of the year. The exhibitions change frequently, and there is the opportunity for solo exhibitions.
